Gao Le said that whether it is investment or equity participation, it depends on the judgment of the future market. BMW currently maintains a good strategic cooperative relationship with CATL.
However, products under Spotlight, a joint venture between BMW and Great Wall, will use power batteries from downstream companies of Great Wall Motors.
CATL has been favored by first-tier auto companies such as Volkswagen and Hyundai, and received a large order of US$12.5 billion from Hyundai Motor in February.
According to SNE Research statistics, as a global supplier of electric vehicle batteries, CATL ranked first in the world with a supply of 4.3 gigawatt hours (GWh) in January this year, an increase of 166.2% over the same period last year, accounting for the global total. of 31.2%.
