Keysight Expands Coverage of Cellular Vehicle-to-Vehicle (C-V2X) Test Solutions to Cover Entire Automotive Workflow

Beijing, June 8, 2021 – Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS) today announced the launch of its new Keysight C-V2X Autonomous Driving Simulation (ADE) solution. Running on the Keysight UXM 5G wireless test platform, the solution enables comprehensive testing of 3GPP R14 C-V2X devices, including measuring their functional, protocol and radio frequency (RF) characteristics. Keysight Technologies provides advanced design and verification solutions designed to accelerate innovation and create a secure, connected world.

Achieving the goal of fully autonomous driving requires the development of extremely complex software that incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) that can correctly understand and act on real-time data streams sent by surrounding infrastructure and on-board sensor arrays. To thoroughly validate the functionality, performance, and safety of these systems, developers require sophisticated simulation and testing in the lab.

Keysight is committed to helping developers understand, integrate, and deploy new technologies that support advanced security features, such as hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) closed-loop systems. The automotive industry will use these systems to simulate surrounding vehicle systems and connect newly developed components. Running on the UXM 5G wireless test platform, Keysight’s C-V2X ADE solution protects customers’ investments by supporting a range of test types that will underpin future 5G New Radio (NR) C-V2X releases. These test types include:

Transmitter Testing: Power, Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), Frequency Accuracy, In-Band Emissions, Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR).

Receiver test: sensitivity, maximum input level, adjacent channel selectivity.

Protocol testing: Ensures that the PC5 link protocol, V2X message type and content are sent and received correctly. Comprehensive coverage of C-V2X and LTE protocol test cases for GCF and PTCRB device qualification testing.

Application Layer Testing: Contains application layer testing that integrates C-V2X scenarios with HIL systems.

Keysight’s C-V2X ADE solution and UXM 5G wireless test platform provide an environmental simulator for lab testing and simulation of road scenarios that can simulate both common and extremely rare scenarios. Comprehensive scenario generation capabilities enable it to train advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) software using time-synchronized input from real-world sensors, enabling customers to:

Validate system performance at an early stage of development, and integrate C-V2X scenarios with HIL systems through application-layer testing to enhance validation through synchronous testing of communication systems.

Leverage the flexibility of the platform to add relevant sensor types and expand as sensor systems and test requirements evolve.

Leverage existing test environments and workflows to reduce integration costs and protect HIL system and 3D modeler investments with an open ADE architecture.

Utilize 24/7 regression testing to provide quality assurance on future updates and perform conformance testing on features and updates released after production.
