Keysight Test Solutions Wins DEKRA’s Choice for 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Device Compliance Validation

Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) today announced that DEKRA, the world’s leading test house, has selected Keysight’s 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) test solutions to further expand compliance for 5G NR, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 devices Sex testing business. Keysight Technologies provides advanced design and verification solutions designed to accelerate innovation and create a secure, connected world.

Regulatory agencies in various countries have mandated that companies must conduct radio frequency (RF) regulatory testing of their cellular equipment products to ensure that the radio frequency power of these products does not exceed specified standards, thereby ensuring the safety of end users. These agencies also set transmit power standards for license-exempt non-cellular wireless devices such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless devices. Therefore, DEKRA decided to expand the use of Keysight’s test solutions to better support the rapid growth of the global 5G and IoT compliance test market.

“With more than 600 5G devices already launched from manufacturers around the world, we are very excited to continue supporting DEKRA,” said Muthu Kumaran, senior director of Keysight’s Wireless Test Group. “With Keysight’s 5G RF device compliance test solutions As a result, DEKRA has successfully launched nearly two dozen commercial 5G devices in different form factors, including wireless devices suitable for use in the automotive industry.”

DEKRA selected Keysight’s RF/RRM DVT and compliance test tool suite, RF automation tool suite, and wireless IoT regulatory test solution to meet mandated requirements from regulatory agencies including the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), ETSI, which is responsible for the European Union’s CE certification of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED), and the Telecommunications Engineering Center (TELEC) in Japan. The majority of DEKRA’s compliance testing has focused on the sub-7 GHz (FR 1) spectrum, which is supported by nearly 90% of commercial 5G equipment.

Feng Jianbo, general manager of DEKRA’s Suzhou laboratory, said: “By further expanding the use of Keysight’s 5G and IoT device test solutions at DEKRA, we can cost-effectively provide a variety of 5G device conformance verification and compliance testing services. Keysight’s 5G, IoT and C-V2X test solutions empower us to fully certify products and systems that facilitate the safe interaction of humans and technology, including vehicles.”

Keysight’s 5G device test solutions provide a full suite of test cases covering FR1 and FR2 (millimeter wave) spectrum using a common hardware and software platform. DEKRA adopts this all-in-one comprehensive solution to not only meet the test requirements in 5G NR Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) modes, but also meet the requirements of 4G LTE. Keysight also offers test houses and IoT vendors a richer set of IoT solutions covering connectivity, continuity, compliance, coexistence and cybersecurity requirements.
